Aimee Stockenstroom is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who seeks to create space for individuals who have experienced trauma to feel heard, visible, validated, and empowered.

Aimee Stockenstroom graduated from Georgetown College with a BA in psychology and from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia. She has worked over 20 years both in the US and abroad in non-profit agencies supporting survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence by providing direct therapy services to individuals over 16 years old and in group settings, prevention and education, policy development and implementation, management and leadership, and justice and advocacy work. Aimee has also worked with individuals with refugee backgrounds, foster care, and adoption.
She currently provides individual psychotherapy in a private practice and group practice primarily to survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence and staff working within domestic and sexual violence agencies. She also develops and delivers trainings on dynamics of intimate partner and sexual violence, trauma informed therapeutic services for survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence and consultation services on development and implementation of trauma informed policies and services within domestic and sexual violence agencies. She also serves as a contract social worker for a private adoption agency.
