Sharon A. Simms, CEO of SAS Services, LLC is a nonprofit consultant, former social worker, facilitator, and social work educator who has served numerous agencies in the State of Hawai‘i. Sharon has over 20 years of experience working in the human/social services and nonprofit sector. In May of 2012, Sharon founded SAS Services, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in organizational development and organizational capacity building. SAS Services provides a variety of options to assist organizations in delivering effective and efficient services for those they serve. Through SAS Services, Sharon works collaboratively with talented and creative professionals with expertise in strategic planning, organizational change, system change, program development, program evaluation, meeting facilitation, community outreach and community building, executive coaching, professional development, curriculum design, and much more.
Sharon has served as the Interim Executive Director for The National Association of Social Workers Hawai‘i Chapter, Children’s Alliance of Hawai‘i, and Central Oahu Youth Services Association. She has also served as a consultant to the Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Services Branch to redesign transitional services for young people exiting the foster care system. In addition, Sharon worked collaboratively with the Aloha United Way and Kela Associates to design and facilitate the Alaka‘i Series: Aloha United Way’s Leadership Development, Capacity Building Workshop Series. Sharon also served as the merger consultant for the Hawai‘i Health & Harm Reduction Center, formerly The Life Foundation and the CHOW Project.
Sharon has taught for Myron B. Thompson, School of Social Work, and the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa Outreach College. She facilitates professional development workshops focused on leadership development, management & supervision, case management, effective communication, facilitation skills, change management, board development, trauma-informed care, working with children and youth who have experienced trauma, self-care, foster care, and much more.
Sharon has a Masters of Social Work and a Bachelors of Arts in Communications from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. Sharon grew up in Mililani and graduated from Mililani High School. She is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Educator, Certified Professional Coach and is a member of the International Association of Facilitators, Society of Human Resource Management, National Association of Social Workers, Association for Talent Development, and Hawaii-Pacific Evaluation Association. Sharon serves on the board of Blueprint For Change and House of Light, Inc. She currently lives on the North Shore of Oahu in the Hawaiian islands, in a house with built-in self-care, the sound of the ocean.
